Office file extentions association

sometime you may have to install a new Microsoft office while there is one installed already.
for example I have a 2013 edition istalled, then I installed 2016 for some reason.

upto this everything is fine.. but then I decided to uninstall 2013. all file association will go with it.
all .doc .docx .xls .xlsx files will not open automatically. so what to do in such a case ===>

you just need to reassociate those files with office. thats all.

right click on a office file. for example   "example.doc" then go to properties.
in the open with section click "change" button. and then navigate to

C:\Program files\Microsoft Office\root\office16\

in that folder you will find all of the installed components of office 2016. (excel, word, outlook etc)
in our case just select "word.exe" then click "ok".

now word is recognised as a desktop app. now if you want to associate word with any other file type
you dont need to go to the directory. just go to file properties and click "change" you will see "word" already displayed in the given list.

do the same steps for excel as well.
